Experience Paideia

This video was produced by the Gaston County Schools' Communication Department (2023)

The Paideia Program is unique among contemporary education transformation projects because it is: first, a philosophy about what it means to be human; second, a set of educational theories based on that philosophy; and third, specific instructional practices that flow naturally from those theories.

The mission of the NPC is to foster the use of these instructional practices—otherwise known as the Three Columns of Instruction—to increase both rigor and equity in Paideia classrooms.

To that end, we offer a variety of ways for you to access the Paideia Program:

Ultimately, you can follow the path of Paideia implementation as an individual educator, a member of a team, or—most powerfully—as part of a whole-school community dedicated to becoming a Paideia School for Creative Thinking.

Join us in the journey of making your classroom or school the most rigorous and equitable learning environment it can possibly be.
