Paideia Schools for Creative Thinking
The school is the most powerful entity in transforming the quality of education. Paideia Schools for Creative Thinking—where students learn to Think, Discuss, and Act—are characterized by the systemic implementation of the following elements:
- Engaged and rigorous student life in all classes
- Thoughtful and collaborative school culture involving both students and adults
- Engaged leadership focused on learning
- Active community interest and involvement
- Flexible scheduling that fosters creative teaching and learning
These traits function to make academic rigor equally accessible to all students, inspiring and preparing them for contemporary life. In working with schools and districts, we always seek to use Paideia instruction to meet the specific challenges faced by the individual school community. This practice includes honoring both local curriculum requirements and teacher evaluation programs.
The journey to becoming a Paideia school typically takes three to four years and involves three stages of certification that lead to a final accreditation: 1) Paideia Seminar Certification; 2) Paideia Classroom Certification; 3) and full School Accreditation, which includes Paideia Project Certification.
