Free Family Seminar Plans to Support and Extend Learning At-Home
The National Paideia Center is dedicated to supporting families and educators around the world as conversations at home extend ideas from school. The structures of learning are changing before our eyes, and we are all responding and adapting to our home-based experiences at different rates. While we recognize that there are some genuinely innovative and dynamic digital opportunities, we at the National Paideia Center are thinking and responding to the opportunity that opens when the screen closes.
Traditionally, a Paideia Seminar is a classroom-wide collaborative, intellectual dialogue about a text, facilitated with open-ended questions. Our Family Paideia Seminar Plans still have the essence of a classroom seminar while allowing for rich and authentic dialog at home. Seminars are perfect no matter your household size. These plans will be free and can be used by ALL to help enrich our time at home. Our goal is to help support households as we seek to better understand this ever changing world we live in.
Please view the video introduction to our Family Plans from our assistant director, Jeremy Spielman.
Talk to Us!
You can now share your experiences with our At-Home Learning initiatives on our Paideia Flipgrid account. This platform allows you to record a short video about our Family Plans and the kinds of conversations they are sparking with your family. We would love to interact with you in this fun new way, so please gather your family around the screen and start a dialogue with us.
