Common Core State Standards and The Paideia Project
Would you like to design units of study that make your standards relevant for your students?
How can you engage your students in meaningful work that is aligned with the Common Core State Standards?
A Paideia Project is a unit of study that leads to a student production or performance of real value to an audience outside the classroom. It is designed specifically to create relevant classroom work that connects the standards to the larger world in which your students live.
Our Common Core Standards and the Paideia Project Institute builds on Paideia Seminar training guiding you through the consturction of a three-column Project blueprint. We start with curriculum analysis to generate a map for creating high quality student production and performance. We’ll also draft a detailed Project timeline and holistic assessment tools.
In short, our goal for this Institute is for you to plan the fundamental “macro components” of a Paideia Project. Ultimately, these plans will serve as the key tools for engaging students in meaningful and collaborative work.
